All restoration work is done by Fall Creek's fine craftspeople.  All tuning is done by Bill Youhass.  Restored instruments come with a 1 year tuning warrantee.

Consignment Instruments

Consignment instruments are carefully screened.  We offer only those instruments in 'very good' to like-new condition.  We will tune consignment instruments once at ANY TIME at 50% off the current tuning fee.

  • Marimba One's set of wheeled cases will be included at no extra charge ($2500 value). They, too, are in excellent condition.

  • Made between 1961-69
  • Purchased in 1973 from original owner
  • Kept in temperature and humidity controlled home
  • Frame is solid
  • Includes a set of fiber cases
  • "Something had splattered on resonators before I purchased in '73 (see photo)
  • Small end piece has some white scuffs.
  • Finish is 'crazed' on all bars. (See photo)
  • Three bars each have one small edge area where finish is 'dinged' off.

  • Played throughout Illinois in the early 1940's and early '50's and kept most of the time in a family den since that time.
  • 2 1/4" Low C
  • Bars in excellent condition
  • Black frame with minor chips and scratches
  • Resonators in very good condition - low C and highest front tube each has a very minor dent at the bottom
  • Same bar design as the Canterbury and Deagan #40 (both designed by Musser)
  • Breaks down for easy transport
  • Needs new cord and bar posts insulators
  • 24 mallets included in fair condition
  • Also includes a wooden mallet stand made by the owner's father-in-law in the mid-1950's

  • Purchased 10 years ago from Elliot Fine, percussionist for 40 years with the Minnesota Orchestra; played and stored in private home.
Owner directed repairs include:

  • Resonators: replated; two of the smallest have been replaced (the originals were lost when the resonators were dipped for plating). These replaced resonators cannot be seen, so they don't spoil the appearance.
  • Tubular Frame: replated
  • Steel parts of frame: nickel plated to high gloss, including caster bodies
  • Wood Frame: stripped and repainted
  • Bars: refinished and tuned by FCM; rosewood; all original.
  • Several damaged bars repaired by Fall Creek- almost invisible.

  • The bars are made of hormigo.
